REIKI

Reiki flows through the hands where it may flow. Brings balance to what is out of balance and movement to what wants to move. The loving contact, both physical and energetic, wraps a blanket around you and gently rocks you. All this with the ultimate intention of returning home to your natural self.'

Reiki is literally translated as the universal (rei) life energy (ki).

Mikao Usui (1865-1926) is considered the rediscoverer of reiki energy. A healing energy that everyone can experience in their own way.

After a long search into the workings of energy and its application for healing, Mikao only found his true answers on Mount Kurama. A sacred mountain in Japan where universal energy is present to an increased extent.

The story goes that after a 21-day meditation and fasting retreat at a specific tree on this mountain, he received a spontaneous initiation and integration of what he later shaped into his 'Usui Shiki Ryoho' or 'Usui System of Natural Healing'.

From that moment on he had the gift of healing and started giving treatments. He devoted the rest of his life to experiencing and deepening Reiki and teaching his system.

Today, the 'Usui System of Natural Healing' is practiced all over the world. It is spread in the form of oral information transfer, giving initiations and exchanging treatments.

In a treatment, the hands are placed directly on the body in slow successive positions, allowing the healing energy to be activated in the recipient. A Reiki session reconnects you with this natural source power.

Reiki can be used as a supporter and giver of strength in various life processes on your path. Illness, grief, a new phase, processing traumatic events, pregnancy, ... are just a few examples in which reiki can have added value. If you have difficulties in the natural completion of a process, Reiki can assist you. But even if you are blessed with a natural path, Reiki can take you to a deeper fulfillment.

When you begin to walk the path of Reiki, you will discover that the Reiki practice and your commitment to it is deeply about being and staying true to your natural self. Through all distraction and temptation, choose again and again for the true self in yourself and others.

The deepest form of healing that Mikao Usui envisioned was the rediscovery of this true self. And the deepest level of healing others is helping them rediscover their true selves.

Later in time, various Reiki movements and systems emerged (Karuna Reiki, Kundalini Reiki, Rainbow Reiki, Holy Fire Reiki, ...). Mamoko is open to this evolution. And likes to be amazed by the different ways in which the Reiki energy shows itself and feels in a treatment.
